About us

Balurghat Lalit Mohan Adarsha Uchcha Vidyalaya is a prestigious educational institution in Balurghat, West Bengal, with a rich history dating back to 1949. The school was established with a noble aim of providing quality education to the children of the region, primarily in the Bengali medium.

Initially, the school had only a few rooms in Beltala Park, but as the number of students increased, the school required more space to accommodate them. A kind-hearted benefactor from the local community came forward to donate a piece of land for the school’s expansion, and in recognition of his generosity, the school was named after his father, Lalit Mohan.

Over the years, Balurghat Lalit Mohan Adarsha Uchcha Vidyalaya has continued to grow and evolve, adding new programs and facilities to enhance the quality of education. The school is affiliated with the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, and offers classes from 1 to 12.

Today, the school has over 50 experienced and dedicated teachers who are committed to providing a holistic education to the students. With a student population of over 1500, the school has become a pillar of the community, known for its academic excellence and commitment to community service.

The school is situated on over 3 acres of land and has state-of-the-art science labs and an ATAL lab, which was the first of its kind in the district. These facilities provide students with hands-on learning experiences and help them develop practical skills that will prepare them for the challenges of the future.

Balurghat Lalit Mohan Adarsha Uchcha Vidyalaya has come a long way since its humble beginnings. However, the school remains committed to its founding values of providing quality education to the community and preparing students to become responsible and engaged citizens.
